Bump From Cardiac Catharization

With the resin can do very interesting work, such as key chains, pendants, rings ... etc.

These studies were conducted in ventilated area with gloves as the mixture of the two components is toxic

MATERIALS:

1. Polyester resin kit (must bring 2 solutions: A / B resin polymerized and / hardener), sold in craft stores or major stationers.

2. Beaker, preferably plastic (which is only used for this because the solution can be toxic)

3. Plastic container to mix the solution

4. Plastic container with applicator (such as ketchup!) To fill the molds.

5. Wooden tongue depressor to stir the mixture (you can mix other things, but they are great because they do not emit anything that might be the solution)

6. Wax paper to cover the workspace

7. Plastic molds the way we want (can be used to make chocolates, there are some very cheap).

PERFORMANCE:

- To start, we measured the amount of each of the solutions to the beaker as it should be exactly the same for the 2, pour into the mixing bowl (first A, then B), then mix with the flat stick for about 4 or 5 minutes until a homogeneous pork steaks, which will start having an opaque color as the minutes will pass back clearer.

- The next step is to empty the mixture into the pot with applicator, as this will be much easier to fill molds with liquid.

- When filling out what worked best was:

For tablets or moderately heavy items: Start by adding a thin layer of liquid and immediately placing the coated candy and fill it completely.

For the diamond or very light elements: It was necessary to apply a thin layer and then the diamond, leaving a few hours to harden a bit and fill the mixture completely.

All this depends on the elements we want to integrate so I think it is good undergoes a bit to see the results.

- The label on the kit I bought said that 12 hours is sufficient that the figures are ready, but it was very difficult to remove the mold, so researching I read that when the mixture is completely dry it is very easy to unmold. Finally the time that worked best were 20 hours to remove only was necessary to apply a little force as if ice mold release.

- Since the mixture may smell a bit stronger would be ideal to work in a well-ventilated area, it is also important not to have any heat sources near and the mixture is flammable.

- As the mixture is sticky and toxic it is best to use rubber gloves and be careful when handling.

- All dishes and molds must be used only for this since the mixture is toxic!

- We cover it with waxed paper work because if you spill some mixture will be a lot easier to clean and not have to be concerned about that.

- When we fill the mold with the mixture will begin to generate bubbles on the top, and saw that there is a liquid that removes them, but not totally necessary to buy and that is enough with the straw gently blow on the bubbles to undo.

- For the time in which the dry mix is \u200b\u200bgood to leave the mold in a covered place to keep them from getting dust or anything else that could be stuck in the figure.

- We put too much mixing can occur, get out of the mold and that removing remaining surplus in the figure, but no problem! with scissors or an exact is very easy to trim and leave the perfect figure.

- In the end, for washing and removing excess mix left in the containers, it is best to acetone.

- Another way to figure it with another material called epoxy resin, it dries much faster but is a bit more expensive so I decided to first experiment with it.

- The interesting thing is that this material can be made an infinity of figures, filled with various items such as stickers, candy, cuttings, etc. Also you can buy accessories to make rings or earrings, apply and give a final layer of liquid to snap into the figure. Another option is to drill and place attachment to hang. Anyway, I think it is fun to experiment and keep trying new things.
